UNESCO/UIA子どもと建築憲章、絵本「ほしとぼくらがすむところ」_田口純子

UIA（国際建築家連合）のArchitecture and Children Work Programme (建築と子ども活動部会) は、子どもや若者を対象とした建築・まちの教育を推進する、世界中の実践者や研究者のネットワークです。JIA国際委員会から田口純子（東海支部/名城大学）が日本委員・アジアディレクターとして参加しています。

2019年には、子どもの権利条約を基本理念にした「UNESCO/UIA Charter Built Environment Education for Children and Young People (子どもと建築憲章)」が発行されました。JIAでは、UNESCO/UIA子どもと建築憲章およびガイドラインにそって教育支援活動を展開しています。

主な活動の一つが、ゴールデンキューブ賞です。この賞は、JIA 内外で行われている建築・まちの教育活動を顕彰し、国際賞である UIA ゴールデンキューブ賞へ推薦しています。日本の推薦活動が、2014 年には最優秀賞（組織部門）、2023 年には最優秀賞（学校部門）・特別賞（出版部門）を受賞しました。

また、UNESCO/UIA子どもと建築憲章の日本語版の作成過程で、子どもたちや広く多世代に憲章の内容を伝えるための絵本「ほしとぼくらがすむところ」が制作されました。絵本は日本語と英語でPDF配信されています。（田口純子 / UIA Architecture and Children Work Programme）

UIA Architecture and Children Work Programme is a network of practitioners and researchers worldwide who promote Built Environment Education (BEE) for children and young people. From the JIA International Relations Committee, TAGUCHI Junko (JIA Tokai /Meijo University) participates as a Japan member and a proxy director of Asia.

In 2019, the UNESCO/UIA Charter Built Environment Education for Children and Young People was published based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. JIA supports educational activities following the UNESCO/UIA BEE Charter and Guidelines.

One of our main activities is the JIA Golden Cubes Awards. This award recognizes BEE activities within and outside JIA and recommends them for the UIA Golden Cubes Awards. Japan’s recommendation activities won the Institutions Award in 2014, the Schools Award in 2023, and a special mention in the Written Media category in 2023.

While creating the Japanese translation of the UNESCO/UIA BEE Charter, a picture book titled “Wandering Journey on Our Planet” was created to convey the essence of the Charter to children and other generations. This picture book is distributed in PDF format in Japanese and English.
