JIA建築家大会で例年開催されるIPF（International Presidents’ Forum）は、JIAの提携協会であるAIA（アメリカ建築家協会）、ASA（タイ王立建築家協会）、KIRA（大韓建築士協会）、KIA（韓国建築家協会）及び関係協会の会長・代表者を招いてパネルディスカッション等を行う国際交流イベントである。
別府大会のIPFでは提携四団体に加え、ARCASIA（アジア建築家評議会）、SIA（シンガポール建築家協会）、AIA Japan（アメリカ建築家協会日本支部）からも会長を招待し、「建築家の調達方法」をテーマに各国公共建築における建築家の選定方法や関連する法律等に関するプレゼンテーションや意見交換が行われた。
各協会の登壇者から最低価格入札を禁止・制限する規制や、環境および歴史保存ポリシーの維持、地域コミュニティへの関与を求める事例等、日本国内においても参考になる制度の紹介がなされた。
今回は会議テーマが実務・事務的であり、建築を紹介するビジュアルがほとんどないイベントであるにも関わらず、国際委員会関係者以外の会員の方々にも聴講いただき、今後私たちが取り組むべき課題に対する関心の高さを伺うことができた。
海外からのゲスト対応としてIPFのほか、開催地ならではの「別府温泉地獄めぐりミニツアー」を企画し、九州別府の方々がどのようにして火山と地熱のエネルギーを活用し豊かな生活に変換しているのか、知恵と工夫を体感いただけたのではないかと考えている。 最後に、大会運営ならびに参加協力いただいた全ての方々に深く感謝を申し上げます。（水本浩二 / JIA国際委員 / 九州支部）

extent this is customary in your country.

3-1. Please provide any additional explanations you can provide regarding the selection of
designers for public buildings in addition to the answers above. For example, provision of
opportunities for young architects, movements to improve procurement of architects, or how to
set up standards of selection of architects.
