アメリカ建築家協会「2025年大阪・関西万博ツアー」参加報告／開催日：2025年5月30日（金）＿高階澄人

5月30日、AIA International in Japanが主催する「2025年大阪・関西万博ツアー」にご招待をいただき、JIA近畿支部から吉田文男さん・西濱浩次さん・梅原悟さん・眞野サトルさん・奥野八十八さんが、国際委員会からはアドバイザーの高階が参加しました。

AIAの事前交渉によるファストパスで、オランダ、サウジアラビア、シンガポール、ドイツ、マレーシア、ポルトガルなどのパビリオンをスムーズに見学することができました。ヨルダン館では本国から持ち込まれた砂漠の砂に素足で踏み込む身体的体験が心地よく、政府代表代行シファ・ズグール・ハッダードさんによる、万博参加意義についてのプレゼンテーションには参加者一同が胸を打たれました。

見学後に開かれたパネルディスカッションでは、「持続可能な未来に向けての建築家と建材メーカーの協働」、「未来の環境をデザインする／建築とランドスケープにおける循環の重要性」というテーマで、スピーカーの方々から万博会場ならではの興味深いお話を伺うことができました。

On May 30, we were invited to attend the “Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 Tour” hosted by AIA International in Japan. Participants include Ar. Fumio Yoshida, Ar. Koji Nishihama, Ar. Satoru Umehara, Ar. Satoru Shinno and Ar. Yasohachi Okuno from the JIA Kinki Chapter, as well as me, Takashina, an advisor of the International Relations Committee.

AIA’s pre-negotiated Fast Pass allowed us to smoothly tour the pavilions of the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Portugal, and others. At the Jordan Pavilion, the physical experience of stepping barefoot into the desert sand brought in from Jordan was a pleasant one, and all attendees were moved by the presentation of the significance of participation in the Expo by Ms. Shifa Zghoul HADDAD, Acting Commissioner General.

After the tour, there were two panel discussions on the themes of “Collaboration between Architects and Building Material Producers to create a Sustainable Future” and “Designing Tomorrow’s Environments, Circular Values in Architecture and Landscape.” The speakers shared interesting stories that could only be told at the Expo site.
